Our Central San Antonio location is located on Callaghan Road near the I-10 and I-410 interchange.  Proudly serving the Central San Antonio since 2007, this health center is open Monday – Friday from 8am – 5pm.

Jennifer is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator who chose to specialize in diabetes because of her own personal experiences. She was born in Beeville, Texas, and raised all over the state but mainly in Floresville. At the age of eleven, Jennifer was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes. When she was in the 8th grade, she decided that she wanted to be a diabetes educator and help other people with diabetes. Jennifer has always been very active in sports and church. Her stubborn, independent spirit has helped her to push herself and accomplish her goals. Jennifer attended Southwest Texas State University where she received her received a B.S. in Nutrition and Foods. Her dietetic internship was also completed at Southwest Texas State University. Her first job was as a diabetes educator at Texas Perinatal group, where she developed a diabetes education program for pregnant women with diabetes. She then worked at Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital as a clinical dietitian. There she was responsible for children with various diseases, such as cystic fibrosis, diabetes, heart disease, etc. She is excited to be a part of the DiabetesAmerica team because she enjoys the collaboration with the doctors and educators. She feels that she can positively impact an individual’s life and help them to have a better understanding of this disease. Jennifer joined the DiabetesAmerica team to fulfill her life long goal of being a diabetes educator. She finds great satisfaction in educating people with diabetes and empowering them to take care of themselves. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys running with her black lab, Molly. She participates in half marathons, Krav Maga, trail riding on her mountain bike and going to the shooting range. She thoroughly enjoys pushing the limits and proving people wrong when they tell her she cannot do something because she has diabetes.

Dr. Ocampo is board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.  She completed her residency and fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Ocampo has been practicing endocrinology in San Antonio since 2003. She has published several articles related to diabetes and currently holds a teaching appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in the division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Dr. Dina Rivera is double board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. She completed her residency and fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Rivera has been practicing endocrinology in San Antonio since completing her fellowship in 2011. She strongly believes that educating patients on healthy lifestyle choices is key to their management. Dr. Rivera is also fluent in Spanish.

Jessica was born and raised in Corsicana, Texas. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nutritional Science from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and completed her Dietetic Internship at the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston. She graduated with her Master’s in Public Health in May 2012. Prior to working at DiabetesAmerica, Jessica was a Dietitian and Diabetes Educator at the Texas Diabetes Institute in San Antonio, Texas. She chose to specialize in diabetes care because of her passion for teaching people about nutrition and health. She became motivated to work with people with diabetes during her internship rotation at Camp Rainbow for kids with diabetes. She thinks diabetes care is fascinating and her goal is to motivate and positively influence patients to make healthy lifestyle changes. Jessica is excited to join a team that works together to give the best patient care possible. She believes the comprehensive care that DiabetesAmerica provides is the best way to manage diabetes. Jessica recently relocated to San Antonio and got married in October 2011. She and her husband love San Antonio! Together they have a dog named Lucy. They also have a new house in the country, where they enjoy decorating, gardening, walking Lucy and going for runs. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, cooking, hanging out with family and friends, swimming, dancing and going to the lake.
