Symptoms of Hyperglycemia
It is important for the person with diabetes to be able to recognize the signs of hyperglycemia, or high blood sugars.
They can include:
- increased thirst
- increased urination
- tiredness/drowsiness
- headache
- blurred vision
- dry mouth/skin, or itching
- infections, such as vaginal infections or urinary tract infections that recur, or sores that don“t heal
- unexplained weight loss
If these symptoms occur, you should monitor your blood glucose and/or contact your diabetes health care provider for recommendations.
